Sports
Amstelveen offers a comprehensive range of sports. The possibilities range from football to bridge and Line dancing to volleyball. Sports are often played on a club basis and you may be required to register before playing.

Swimming pool

Stichting Amstelveens Sportbedrijf (SAS) (Amstelveen sports management foundation) is a non-profit organisation implementing municipal policies with regard to sport and games. SAS deals with matters including:
- management and rental of sports accommodation
- development and execution of programmes encouraging participation in sport by people of any age
- swimming lessons and water activities

Cricket
There are two cricket clubs based in Amstelveen. VRA Cricket club and ACC Cricket club. VRA Cricket club is situated in the Amsterdam Forest and has a rich history in the cricketing spheres within Holland. As you might have seen by their recent exploits in the Cricket World Cup, Dutch cricket is played with passion and commitment but also highlights the best aspect of amateur cricket - to enjoy it. VRA takes their cricket seriously (as they have several current Internationals and the first team became national champion seven times in the last ten years) but also places large emphasis on playing the game for fun, and enjoying all the social aspects that go along with it. ACC Cricket Club formed in 1921, is a friendly, social and successful club, based in the Amsterdam/Amstelveen area. They have 3 pitches available during the weekend and only one during the week since they share the grounds with a golf club.

Go centre
The European Go Cultural Centre (EGCC) is a non-profit organization with the aim of spreading the boardgame Go in Europe and to inform the public in Europe about the existence, background and rules of the ancient game of Go. They work closely with the European Go Federation and organizing tournaments and courses. In cooperation with most national associations they have developed and produced promotion and teaching material, which is available in seventeen European languages. The building where the EGCC is situated is owned by the Nihon Ki-in and loaned to the Foundation Nihon Ki-in European Go Cultural Centre to be used as a place to play go. Water sports
