Repeat vaccination against coronavirus
GGD Amsterdam has started repeat vaccinations against the coronavirus. Anyone aged 12 and over can make an appointment for a free repeat vaccination. You don't have to wait for a letter.
You can schedule an appointment 24 hours a day via the website www.planjeprik.nl. You need your DigiD for this. You can also call the National Vaccination Appointment Number on 0800 7070 (7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.). The GGD vaccination location in Amstelveen is located at Bovenkerkerweg 6-8.
Please take these with you when you come
- Your ID card or passport
- A face mask
- Clothing that allows easy access to your upper arm
Repeat vaccination helps prevent spread of coronavirus
Coronavirus spreads more easily in autumn and winter. The more people who get a repeat vaccination, the slower the virus will spread.
Repeat COVID-19 vaccination helps:
- protect against severe illness, hospital admission or death due to COVID-19;
- prevent hospitals from becoming overburdened;
- keep businesses open, including restaurants, cafés and gyms, because fewer people are ill.
Updated vaccines
The mRNA vaccines developed by BioNTech/Pfizer and Moderna have been adapted to offer better protection against other coronavirus variants, like Omicron. You can get the jab if it has been at least 3 months since your last vaccination or coronavirus infection. You must have completed your primary vaccination series. A primary series is 2 doses of BioNTech/Pfizer, Moderna or Novavax, or 1 dose of the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine.
Repeat vaccination is the same as booster vaccination
A repeat vaccination and a booster vaccination work in the same way. Both strengthen your immune system and offer extra protection.
