Kings Day 2020 is celebrated at home
We regret that King's Day cannot be celebrated in the traditional way because of the corona measures. This means there will be no activities in Aalsmeer either.
We regret that King's Day cannot be celebrated in the traditional way because of the corona measures. This means there will be no activities in Amstelveen either.
No free markets, performances, events and other forms of gatherings, including for children, are allowed to be organised on 27 April 2020. Spontaneous get-togethers in the neighbourhood or in the street are not allowed either.
The rule also applies to King's Day: stay at home where and when you can. The City wishes to point out once again not to organise anything from your window, balcony or garden. We must prevent passers-by or neighbours from gathering on the pavement in front of the house or in the street and standing too close to each other.
However, here is what will be possible: singing the national anthem, Wilhelmus, from your own front door, garden or balcony. The national #Wilhelmus2020 moment will be at 10 a.m. Have a toast from your own home with each other, play games over the fence with children in the neighbourhood, have video calls with neighbours and family. But do stay home as much as you can!
Please note: You may receive a maximum of 3 persons at home, provided that a 1.5 metre distance will be maintained from each other.
Please do hang in there, because we will defeat corona only together!
