The Safety Region takes additional measures for the weekend
Also in the first spring weekend you are urged to please stay at home, and stay close to home for a breath of fresh air.
The first spring weekend is coming up, but we are still urging you to stay at home as much as possible and to go outside only for an errand or a short walk and not for recreation. Do not visit busy places such as parks and squares and always keep at least 1.5 metres’ distance. These measures are and will be necessary to combat corona and limit the pressure on the healthcare capacity. Only together can we control corona.
Due to the good weather forecast for this weekend and the possible crowds, additional measures are being taken as a precaution. Police and enforcement authorities will actively monitor the entire Amsterdam-Amstelland region. Fines will be imposed more easily if the measures are violated.
Avoid busy places such as the parks
Residents are urged to avoid busy places where possible. This includes the Blossom park in the Amsterdamse Bos, and also the hiking trails around the Poel and the Heemparken. The parks are actively monitored. In case they become too much crowded, they may be closed. As crowds of cyclists are anticipated, extra supervision is being carried out on the Ronde Hoep cycle route. Also cyclists are urged to stay at home as much as possible.
Sanitary facilities will be closed at recreational locations
To further discourage recreation, sanitary facilities such as communal toilets and shower facilities are closed at recreation parks, holiday parks, camping areas and small camping fields near parks, nature reserves and beaches.
Parents are urged to choose a quiet playground
According to the RIVM guidelines, an exception applies to the rules for children up to and including the age of 12. If they do not show any health symptoms (cough, cold, fever), they can play outside supervised by the parents. This is also allowed in the playground, but parents are urged to choose a quiet playground and keep as much distance as possible.
