Help by raising children (jeugdhulp)
Qualified youth workers give advice on growing up / raising your child (ren), support of children or families who are dealing with divorce or if your child is not happy. Together with the youth worker you can see what your family needs.
If necessary, the youth worker can refer to specialist youth help. Often, however, light and short-term help is sufficient to help a family, with possible help from family and / or friends, on its way again.
How do you request help?
You can fill in a form (perspective plan), where you indicate as a parent / youthful person what your request for help is. The perspective plan is the plan of the family, which they draw up together with the youth worker.
You can hand in the form at the Amstelveenloket (social counter at town hall) or send it by e-mail (jeugdhulp@amstelveen.nl)
A youth worker will contact you to schedule a home visit.
Privacy
Parents and children who make use of help have control over their data themselves. Should it be desirable for your family to share information or to exchange it with other care providers, for example, this will always be in consultation with you.
Safe at home (Veilig thuis)
Veilig thuis Amsterdam-Amstelland is for everyone, young and old, and professionals who deal with domestic violence, elderly or child abuse in themselves or in their environment. Call free of charge 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 0800-2000 for advice or a notification.
Youth protection
Every family has problems, but with some families it is not possible to reduce the problems independently or with the support of professional assistance. If these problems threaten the safety of the children and / or other family members, an employee of Jeugdbescherming Amsterdam can make a family plan together with you and your family to create a safe home situation.
You can be registered at the Jeugdbescherming Amsterdam Veilig Thuis or by a social worker from the municipality of Amstelveen.
Confidential counselor / complaints about youth assistance
If you have a complaint about your provided youth assistance, you must report this to your youth aid provider. If you do not agree with your care provider, you can pass on your complaint to the municipality.
In case you need support or want independent advice, you can contact a confidential advisor of the Advice and complaints agency Youth (AKJ). The AKJ carries out this work on behalf of all Dutch municipalities, the Child Care and Protection Board and various national institutions. The confidential adviser is independent, so he or she does not work for the institution or municipality (www.akj.nl).
Objection and appeal
You can object to the decision on your application. Do this within 6 weeks. Do you then disagree with the state-ment on the notice of objection? Then appeal to the court.
Do you have any questions?
Then you can contact the Amstelveenloket.
