Via IN Amsterdam procedure employers are allowed to initiate the registration for a residence permit prior to their new employee’s arrival in the country. This allows highly skilled migrants (and their family members) to complete several important formalities in a single visit to IN Amsterdam.
Internationals are able, in one appointment, to collect their residence permit and simultaneously complete the necessary registration with their municipality. As a result, they will also receive their citizen service number (BSN), allowing them to open a Dutch bank account, amongst other things. An early IND approval (in the form of a sticker) is available for companies who would like their international employees to start working within two weeks after initiating the application with the IND. Applications for the 30% ruling can also be made via IN Amsterdam.
IN Amsterdam also provides services for EU citizens. EU citizens working for a company which has the official sponsor status with the IND can visit IN Amsterdam for their municipal registration.
IN Amsterdam’s Partnership programme also connects internationals with local expat-related service providers in the Amsterdam Area.
The IN knowledgeable team is ready and able to answer questions, provide information and offer assistance to internationals across a wide range of topics.
