Water authority tax (waterschapsbelasting)
All Amstelveen residents must pay a water authority tax (waterschapsbelasting). This tax is used to maintain dykes and waterways, as well as for water management and water purification. The tax is collected by Waternet.
The Regional Public Water Authority for Amstel, Gooi en Vecht (AGV) charges a water authority tax, which pays for maintenance of dykes and waterways, water management, and water purification. You will receive your bill from Waternet, who collects this tax on behalf of the water authority. For questions about the water authority tax, such as rates and payment methods, please contact Waternet by calling 0900 9394 or go to their website.
Applying for a tax discount or exemption
