Registration and residence
If you have a temporary accommodation in Amstelveen it is important to register in the Basic Registration of Persons (Basis Registratie Personen, BRP) of the municipality.
Registration with the municipality
If you are temporarily staying in the Netherlands it is important that you register in the Basic Registration of Persons (Basis Registratie Personen, BRP) of the municipality. Once you have a Citizen Service Number (Burgerservicenummer, BSN) you can qualify for facilities such as medical care and education. To register a minor, we need the permission of the guardian.
To that end, you need to make an appointment by phone (020) 540 49 11 with the municipality (migration department) of Amstelveen.
For additional information please visit the website of the National Office for Identity Data (Rijksdienst voor identiteitsgegevens, RvIG): Registration of persons from Ukraine in the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP) (English version not yet available). After registration in the BRP you will immediately obtain a BSN.
Temporary reception
With a biometric passport, you can travel freely to the European Union without a visa, and you are allowed to stay for 90 days. This period may be extended if necessary. Additional information can be found at the website of the Government of the Netherlands (Rijksoverheid): Arrival, registration and accommodation of refugees from Ukraine (English version not yet available).
