Sustainability initiatives and grants for collectives and organizations
General
Increasing sustainability and saving energy often leads to a lot of questions and research. On this page you will find a number of initiatives and subsidies that are interesting for collectives, such as associations, and organizations in the municipality of Amstelveen.
Grants for vve's
For Owner Associations (vve's) there is the national subsidy scheme SVVE: Subsidy scheme on sustainability for owners' associations(link is external) available.
This regulation consists of 3 parts:
- SVVE: subsidy for sustainability research and advice | RVO.nl(link is external)
- SVVE: subsidy for sustainability measures | RVO.nl(link is external)
- SVVE: subsidy for charging point advice and basic charging infrastructure | RVO.nl(link is external)
In addition, the municipality offers the Energy Saving Subsidy for homeowners, (re)tenants and associations for energy saving measures on your home. This subsidy can be combined with the SVVE subsidy.
If your CoE is installing a green roof or green facade, you can apply for the Green on Buildings grant. This allows you to be reimbursed for part of the cost of installing greenery on existing buildings.

Solar power for businesses and institutions
Amstelveen Ecostroom(link is external) is an energy cooperative where local residents and entrepreneurs can work together to generate solar energy on a roof in the neighborhood. This group works independently but uses the knowledge of Ecostroom.nu, which has experience with these kinds of projects in and around Amsterdam. Amstelveen Ecostroom is always looking for new roofs for their projects.
Make your roof available
Many businesses, schools and institutions have large roofs suitable for installing solar panels. These panels help to emit less CO2. As a company or institution, it is possible to make your roof available for solar panels. Installing solar panels usually does not require a permit, but it is important to check carefully whether your roof is strong enough. For more information please contact us business counter(link is external).
Selling solar energy through energy marketplace
Companies and institutions in Amstelveen can sell their surplus green energy to the municipality through an energy marketplace for government buildings, for example. This marketplace is managed by Groendus(link is external). This initiative, one of the first in the Netherlands, has social and financial benefits. Participants receive a better price because there is no remittance to traditional energy suppliers. There is also a guaranteed minimum price, so you never get less than agreed upon. By participating, you help to create a cleaner world and become part of a sustainable energy system.
How does it work?
You can sign up for the energy marketplace at the DAS products website(link is external). After your application, Groendus will contact you. They will help you step by step through the application process on Tenderned, the Dutch government's online purchasing platform. Once you have applied, a selection process will follow. If you are selected, we will enter into an agreement together. This allows you to supply power to the energy marketplace within an agreed time period. There are no costs associated with the registration and selection process.
